GN ReSound Hearing Aids
The project with GN ReSound aims at measuring the quality of hearing aids. The goal is to develop a standard methodology for the objective and subjective assessment of the audio quality perceived by hearing aids.
After the analysis of the state of the art and the establishment of a theoretical framework, the results from different types of analysis have been compared:
- Technical characteristics - Measurement of the performance of the hearing aids in laboratory and in real-world situations by means of a suitably equipped dummy head;
- Objective methods - Comparison of actual and output signals of the hearing aids by means of numerical methods and models (ITU-R PESQ/PEAQ, STIPA, AI, etc.);
- Subjective assessments - Administration of test batteries on both non-impaired and deaf subjects (ITU-R, etc.).
